OMBUDSPERSON

The Equity Ombudsperson provides neutral and confidential assistance to lawyers, articling students and support staff working for legal employers who ask for help in resolving complaints of discrimination or harassment.  The role of the Equity Ombudsperson is to listen to complaints, assess the nature of the complaint and inform the individual about potential measures for dealing with the complaint.

The Equity Ombudsperson for Saskatchewan is a contract position with the Law Society of Saskatchewan.  A call to the Equity Ombudsperson is not a complaint to the Law Society.  Except for information about the misappropriation of funds, the Equity Ombudsperson reports only anonymous statistics to the Law Society.  Names are left out of reports.
