When should I talk with my lawyer about fees?
- At your first meeting, you should talk about:
- the type of fees to be charged;
- an estimate of the total cost, if possible;
- when and how you will be billed;
- if there will be special additional costs;
- whether you are eligible for Legal Aid.
- When you come to an agreement with your lawyer about the work and the fees, get it in
writing to avoid problems in the future.
