The Law Society receives two main questions from individuals who wish to
complain about their lawyers:
Do I have a valid complaint against a lawyer?
If you have had an experience with a lawyer about which you wish to complain, please
review the Law Society of Saskatchewan Complaints
Process information to find out what types of complaints the Law Society of
Saskatchewan is authorized to review and how the process works.
How do I make a complaint?
Once you have reviewed the Complaints Process information, if it appears that you have
a complaint which is in the jurisdiction of the Law Society of Saskatchewan Complaints
Process, you may find the Law Society of Saskatchewan Complaint Form to be of assistance. The
Complaint Form is meant simply as a guideline for your assistance and you do not need to
use the form if you do not find it to be helpful. The most important part of the
form is Part II, which asks you to describe your complaint about the lawyer in question
and your involvement in the matter in your own words. The Law Society will
accept complaints only in writing and signed by you. Either typewritten or
handwritten complaint letters are acceptable. You should briefly indicate the
specific complaints you have against the specific lawyer and clearly set out
the nature of the wrongdoing or conduct of which you are complaining. If you have a
complaint about more than one lawyer, please set them out separately as the complaints
will be forwarded to the individual lawyers for response, as set out in the Complaints
Process material.
