The Benchers

The Benchers are the governing body of the Law Society.  There are both lawyer and non-lawyer Benchers.

Eighteen of the Benchers are lawyers from the province of Saskatchewan, of which 17 are elected by their colleagues to serve a three (3) year term from the following areas:

• Regina
• Saskatoon
• South Central Saskatchewan
• North Eastern Saskatchewan
• North Western Saskatchewan
• East Central Saskatchewan
• West Central Saskatchewan
• South West Saskatchewan
• South East Saskatchewan

No elected Bencher can serve more than two consecutive terms (6 years).   The Dean of the College of Law is the 18th lawyer Bencher.
