Professional Conduct Rulings

The collection of Professional Conduct Rulings is located in the Law Society handbook. An update to the rulings was distributed in 2006. The current update is now available below.

PCR 2008 Release 1

To update the handbook, print the file double-sided and three-hole punch. Filing instructions are included in the release.

The following ethics ruling was posted in the members’ section in April. It is included in the above release.  (Our apologies for the confusion when first posted.)

Chapter V – “Impartiality and Conflict of Interest between Clients” – Acting Against a Former Client in a Related Matter, May/June 2007

Please note that leave to appeal of the judgment considering the above ruling was denied April 14, 2008.  The decision of Koch J. 2008 SKQB 62 stands.

The Law Society is developing the Professional Conduct Rulings into a database which will be available for searching in the fall 2008. An announcement will be distributed at that time.
