Saskatchewan Legal Education Society Inc. (SKLESI) In 1993 the Benchers, recognizing the special role for education of lawyers, decided to create a separate organization geared to education. The Saskatchewan Legal Education Society Inc. is the organization which brings together the three institutions most involved in lawyers' education: the Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association and the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan. SKLESI, on behalf of the Law Society, delivers the CPLED (Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education) Bar Admission Program. The CPLED Program was developed by the Law Societies of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. The CPLED Program consists of eight modules: three modules are face-to-face and five are online modules. Face-to-face modules are structured around a series of lectures, small group work and learning exercises with one competency evaluation in each module. Each online module consists of four units with three assignments and one competency evaluation. Students must demonstrate competency on all assignments and competency evaluations in order to successfully complete the CPLED Program. Saskatchewan Legal Education Society Inc. |
