The College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan announced Aidan Gatzke, a first-year law student, as the recipient of the 2024 Law Society of Saskatchewan Scholarship. This scholarship, valued at $6,000, is awarded to exceptional students pursuing legal education at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law.
Aidan’s interest and eventual journey to law school began during high school, where a law class sparked his interest in the legal field. He further developed his passion while studying business at the Edwards School of Business and through his summer work at Anderson & Company in his hometown of Swift Current. This hands-on experience, particularly in real estate, wills, and estates, solidified his commitment to pursuing a legal career, especially in estate planning and agricultural law.
Despite the challenges of adjusting to university life after the pandemic, Aidan has already found a supportive community at the College of Law. He emphasizes the importance of creating connections and building friendships during his time there, a goal he believes will enrich his experience and future career.
Aidan expressed his gratitude and excitement for receiving the scholarship. “It is a tremendous honor to be selected for this award out of so many talented and deserving students,” he shared. Aidan also acknowledged the scholarship’s financial relief, allowing him to focus more on his studies and less on economic concerns. He advises future law students to maintain a steady study schedule and seek a balance between work and relaxation.
The Law Society of Saskatchewan congratulates Aidan Gatzke on this well-deserved achievement and looks forward to seeing his contributions to the legal community.
