A decision has been released in relation to the matter of Law Society of Saskatchewan v Hale. The following allegations against the Member were proven:
The following penalty was imposed by the Hearing Committee:
a. IT IS ORDERED THAT ROBERT HALE is suspended for a period of one month commencing on October 12, 2021. The sentence will reflect that the total period of suspension will be 6 months with 5 months considered to have already been served given that the Member was not practicing since January 1, 2021.
b. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT ROBERT HALE is reprimanded;
c. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT ROBERT HALE shall complete a course regarding workplace harassment, as approved by the Chair of the Discipline Policy Committee, prior to becoming an active member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan
d. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT ROBERT HALE shall pay costs to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in the amount of $2,000.00 by April 15, 2022 unless the parties agree in writing to a different payment schedule.
