Regina and Area Sexual Assault Centre (RSAC) is seeking qualified and passionate community advocates to join our volunteer Board of Directors. The Regina Sexual Assault Centre is a progressive and inclusive organization that is dedicated to reducing prevalence and impacts of all forms of sexual violence towards all individuals. This goal is accomplished through effective counselling, public education, and advocacy. The Centre provide supportive services and referrals to anyone, including family, who has been impacted by sexual violence.
RSAC is overseen by an Executive Director and volunteer Board of Directors. We pride ourselves on being an organization led by expertise and trauma-informed tenants of care in all aspects, from the frontline counselling services we offer to the education provided to the community, to a board of directors that lead with knowledge and expertise.
Therefore, we are seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals with specific skills and areas of expertise to bring this knowledge to our board. Candidates should be experienced and well-informed the following areas:
Law, especially in the context of social justice
Accounting and bookkeeping
Non-governmental agency management and organization
Non-profit board governance
Administration
As a trauma-informed and feminist agency who serves anyone impacted by sexual violence, RSAC serves a diverse group of individuals in Regina, Moose Jaw and area who may be facing multiple intersections of social oppression, and it is fundamental that are staff and leadership reflect this diversity and lived experience. It is also integral that board members approach their role from a intersectional feminist and trauma-informed lens and adhere to RSAC’s Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Policies, and approach to delivering service.
