Being a Presenter

As a Presenter, you’ll speak on your topic and deliver high quality and engaging content, including any PowerPoint or additional materials that you have prepared.

Present

• Introduce your key concepts.
• Communicate and reinforce your points.
• Stay on topic.
• If using polling, announce poll results when presenting.

Engage

If presenting live, whether in-person or virtually:

• Save time during or after the presentation for questions.
• Read or restate questions aloud before answering.
• Show understanding of the perspective being raised, even if you disagree.
• Know your message. Correct misinformation or assumptions.
• Offer reasonable and tactful responses.
• Based on time and discretion, questions can be left unanswered.
• For Zoom Webinars:
  • Use the Chat for general comments and technical support. You may send messages publicly or privately.
  • Use the Q&A to view and respond to questions throughout the presentation. Responses can be verbal or written.
  • We will help moderate questions.

Conclude

• Summarize with purpose and show how you met the presentation goals.
• Don’t introduce new ideas or trail off during the conclusion.
