Provincial Court of Saskatchewan Announcement
June 8, 2021
Chief Judge Shannon Metivier, in consultation with the Ministry of Justice and with a view to improving court capacity, has decided to convert Lloydminster Provincial Court into a circuit court location, served from North Battleford, effective September 1, 2021. While not an easy decision, the move strengthens the Court’s capacity in North Battleford to better serve communities across the entire area. Centralizing judicial resources allows for a shared workload and streamlined scheduling, both of which improve the Court’s ability to respond to community needs and to decide cases in a timely manner.
