SUMMARY:Webinar - Self-Management for Success (CPD 424)
DESCRIPTION:Qualifies for 1.5 CPD Hour \nThe continuingly high Associate attrition rate suggests that many Associates are not finding satisfying careers in their law firms. While Associates have little control over their employers (other than to leave them)\, they can in fact have tremendous control over their own careers. Having coached over 1\,000 Associates and heard from many others through interview processes\, the speaker has a unique insight into what works (and what doesn’t) to promote Associates’ careers and to help them increase their satisfaction with their careers. This session will focus on three critical elements to Associates gaining control: branding\, planning and discipline. \n• Creating and living a personal brand. What is a brand\, why does it work\, and how can you create and follow one? It’s a simple but powerful tool. Get it working for you.\n• Developing a Plan: how branding works\, why do you need a brand\, how to develop one\, how to stick with it.\n• Discipline. A lack of planning and discipline tends to be at the heart of every unhappy Associate. \nThis session explores the benefits of developing and sticking with good habits\, and talks you through some important habits to help your career progress as quickly as it should. \nPresenter: Heather Gray-Grant\n_________________________________\nFor virtual activities\, registration closes one hour before the program start time. SUMMARY:Free Webinar - Well-Being is a Team Sport (CPD 421.4) / Webinaire gratuit - Le mieux-être est un sport d’équipe
\nQualifies for 1.0 CPD Hour. \nWe often think of well-being as an individual problem\, solvable with simple fixes such as doing more yoga\, drinking more water\, getting more rest\, and setting boundaries. Yet the research continues to show that personal solutions are not enough to combat the systemic\, structural\, and cultural elements of the legal profession that keep people unwell. If lawyers don’t take care of each other… who will? \nThe responsibility for driving well-being change in the legal profession is on all of us. Incorporating actionable and replicable goals and strategies to drive true culture change\, this presentation will explore how a community-based approach to lawyer well-being can remove the often artificial\, unnecessary\, and outmoded barriers that prevent legal professionals from being able to perform at their best. \nPresenter: Ryann Peyton\, Colorado Attorney Mentoring Program \nREGISTER HERE \nIn partnership with CLIA and the Law Society of Manitoba\, the Law Society of Saskatchewan is hosting CLIA Well-Being in the Legal Profession Week\, May 12 to 15. \nBuilding on the theme of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Mental Health Week of Unmasking Mental Health and the results of the National Study on the Health and Wellness Determinants of Legal Professionals in Canada\, CLIA will be sharing blog posts and free daily webinars available to members in CLIA jurisdictions. \n………………..\nFor virtual activities\, registration closes one hour before the program start time. SUMMARY:Free Webinar - The Mindful Business Charter (CPD 421.3) / Webinaire gratuit - La charte bienveillante des affaires
\nQualifies for 1.0 CPD Hour. \nWe all know the concerns around mental health in the legal profession. Many of the measures to address it are either about supporting people in distress or encouraging them to be more resilient rather than addressing the causes of the distress. \nThe Mindful Business Charter (MBC) is a movement of law firms and their clients aiming to reduce unnecessary stressors in the workplace. \nIn this session\, CEO Richard Martin provides practical concrete examples of how the MBC can be applied in any workplace.  You will also learn more about the MBC and how to get involved with the valuable work they are doing to create a healthier profession for the future. \nPresenter: Richard Martin \nREGISTER HERE \nIn partnership with CLIA and the Law Society of Manitoba\, the Law Society of Saskatchewan is hosting CLIA Well-Being in the Legal Profession Week\, May 12 to 15.
