SUMMARY:Virtual Workshop Replay - Feedback That Lands: Communicating Clearly with Every Legal Brain (CPD 442)
DESCRIPTION:Qualifies for 2.00 CPD Hours\, all of which qualifies for Ethics. \nLaw firms run on precision\, communication\, and trust\, and yet many of the systems we rely on were not designed to serve the greatest number of people and their different brains! This results in missed expectations\, preventable conflict\, and talented lawyers who struggle unnecessarily or quietly burn out. \nThis practical\, engaging workshop with lawyers Alanna Carlson and Aaron Baer gives legal teams the tools to shift that dynamic. \nThe session will start with a clear overview of neurodivergence in the legal profession\, the current data\, what the research shows about ADHD\, autism\, learning disabilities\, sensory sensitivities\, and executive functioning in high-pressure environments\, and how neurodivergent traits often appear in legal work. Participants will learn to recognize common patterns without pathologizing colleagues or making assumptions. \nThe session will focus on communication and feedback that actually lands with every legal brain. You’ll learn simple\, evidence-based strategies for giving feedback that is specific\, clear\, and supportive. Aaron will focus on approaches that decrease stress\, prevent misunderstandings\, and improve performance for all lawyers\, not just those who identify as neurodivergent. \nParticipants will leave with: \n\nA grounded understanding of how neurodivergence shows up in legal workplaces\nPractical suggestions for delivering feedback that builds clarity\, safety\, and accountability\nA framework for improving team communication without adding more work to anyone’s plate\n\nThis workshop is designed for partners\, managers\, in-house teams\, HR professionals\, and anyone responsible for supporting or supervising lawyers and staff. You’ll walk away with tools that make your workplace more inclusive\, efficient\, and accessible for all. \nPresenters: \nAlanna Carlson\, Alanna Carlson Consulting (Saskatoon) and Aaron Baer\, Renno & Co / 4LAcademy (Toronto) \n___\nFor virtual activities\, registration closes one hour before the program start time. Materials’ links are typically available two business days in advance of the program date (subject to availability and where applicable).
