Saskatchewan Cancer Agency in Regina, SK - Paralegal

Position available: Paralegal

The Contract/Privacy Specialist (paralegal) provides assistance to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s Legal Counsel and Privacy Officer in all facets of their day-to-day responsibilities.

Under the supervision of the Agency’s Legal Counsel, you will assist the Agency in meeting all aspects of its contractual business.  In consultation with Legal Counsel, you will help to create and maintain a contract precedent system as well as maintain organization of the Agency’s contract database.  You will also be responsible for negotiating and concluding some specific types of Agency contracts and engaging in direct communication with Agency staff and outside parties on those contracts.

Under the supervision of the Agency’s Privacy Officer, you will assist the Agency to support Agency-wide privacy principles, policies and practices that are compliant with The Health Information Protection Act (Saskatchewan) (HIPA) and other applicable privacy legislation.  You will support the Agency’s Privacy Officer, engage with Agency staff and other stakeholders to conduct privacy training, as well as perform compliance monitoring activities on internal electronic medical systems and external data repositories.
