Quality of Service

  • Lawyers in the province of Saskatchewan are required to maintain insurance coverage for errors, omissions or negligent conduct.  Such insurance is required to provide protection to the public for errors, omissions, or negligence by a lawyer. A claim of negligence against a lawyer is brought by way of legal process wherein you may prove the lawyer's negligence and how it has affected you financially in order to prove your case and receive an award of damages.
  • If you believe your lawyer has committed an error/omission or was negligent in the conduct of your legal matter, your recourse is to commence legal proceedings against the lawyer for compensation.  The Law Society of Saskatchewan Complaints Process has no jurisdiction to pursue legal action against lawyers for negligence on your behalf.
