Public Concerns Pathway
- The Law Society of Saskatchewan’s Public Concerns Pathway is the first step for the public if you have a concern about a Saskatchewan lawyer, law firm, limited licensee or legal professional. Information is also provided to help direct you if you have a concern about a professional in the legal system outside of the Law Society’s jurisdiction, such as the police or judges. The purpose of the pathway is to provide information regarding your concern and in some cases, to provide self-help tools to assist in repairing or maintaining the relationship with your lawyer or limited licensee. Ahead, answering simple questions about your concern will provide you with customized information and options. If you suspect a legal professional of criminal activity, please contact the police and the Law Society directly. If you are a lawyer or limited licensee with a concern about another legal professional or firm, please contact the Law Society. Before proceeding, keep the following in mind:
- Gather any evidence or documentation about your concern. The Law Society may also ask you where to find evidence.
- If significant time has passed, the Law Society may not be able to investigate a concern. Recollections fade and relevant records may be destroyed.
- The Law Society may not investigate minor breaches of the Law Society of Saskatchewan Code of Professional Conduct, the Law Society of Saskatchewan Rules or The Legal Profession Act, 1990 that do not rise to the level of endangering the public interest.
