7.1 – Introduction and Objectives

The relationship between a lawyer and client is one in which the lawyer provides services to the client. As with any provision of services, it is best to clarify expectations, boundaries, and obligations at the outset. Clearly defining the relationship can help you to avoid misunderstandings, miscommunications, and potential claims. It can also ensure that you receive payment for the services that you provide.
