The Client Has Just Left, Fired, or Was Let Go by Their Previous Lawyer

If a potential client is switching lawyers, ask the client why they are changing counsel. Pay attention to what they say and asses whether you think the client’s concerns are reasonable or overblown and how these reasons may affect any potential relationship with them.

If a potential client was let go by their previous counsel, ask the client for written permission to contact their formal counsel to discuss why their relationship was terminated.
