We are pleased to share that the Moose Jaw Court House has reopened. Saskatchewan’s oldest court house was temporarily relocated after a ceiling collapse two years ago. As noted by Court of Queen’s Bench Chief Justice M.D. Popescul:
“Looking back, the ceiling collapse was an opportunity in disguise – an opportunity to restore one of Saskatchewan’s most beautiful and historic court houses, indeed the oldest court house in the province.”
The Law Society Library in the Court House was also closed during the renovation. It has reopened – albeit in a more limited space – in the Barrister’s Lounge. The collection now contains a core collection in a variety of areas of law to serve our Moose Jaw members. For more information on the Library or to request materials, please contact the Library staff.
