The panel will discuss using a trauma-informed approach to develop appropriate and healthy client relationships when providing legal services. Through a question-and-answer discussion format the panel will talk about situations that may give rise to challenging lawyer/client relationships; the importance of separating the person from the behaviour and developing a trust-based relationship before delving into the legal issue and the importance of lawyers having clear boundaries and expectations, which also have to be reasonable in the circumstance.
