You can find the effective date of any amendment to a Saskatchewan statute using the Tables of Public Statutes at the Queen’s Printer website. The tables list all Saskatchewan public statutes from the 1978 Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan, and all new and amending statues passed since 1978. They are organized by chapter number of the main (not amending) statute, and there is a different table for each letter of the alphabet.
So if I were interested in section 4 of the Administration of Estates Act, I would refer to the “A” table:
The table shows the name of the act, its original chapter number, and a list of amendments organized by section. Note that the same amending statute will appear more than once, depending on how many sections were amended. Section 4 has been amended twice, by S.S. 2001, c.34 and by S.S. 2008, c.2. The effective dates of the amendments were May 17, 2002 and November 1, 2008. Since the table is current to January 1, 2014, I can be reasonable certain that the section has not been amended since 2008.
