The Animal Health Act, SS 2019, c A-20.01, is proclaimed into force November 15, 2019. According to an article in Yorkton This Week, “The Act expands the definition of “disease” to include non-infectious threats such as toxins and emerging issues, including antimicrobial resistance. The Act clearly sets out a veterinary inspector’s authorities and responsibilities with regard to entering and inspecting a premises, establishing quarantines, disease surveillance and control zones, and euthanizing animals to prevent suffering or the spread of disease.”
The Workers’ Compensation Amendment Act, 2019, SS 2019, c 28, except section 4, is proclaimed into force November 15, 2019. The act will expand coverage for professional firefighters in the province.
The following sections and subsections of the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency Act, SS 2019, c S-32.4, are proclaimed into force November 10, 2019:
