Not every court claim needs to cost hundreds of dollars in legal fees – in fact, there are situations where the courts even encourage you to represent yourself, and will assist you with your application and provide you with prescribed documents and forms.
If you have a claim that is worth $30,000 or less, you might want to check out the Provincial Court’s information on Small Claims Court. There’s a Flow Chart describing the court process, detailed information on how to complete a claim, and even a link to a video on what to do in court.
The site includes contact info for all Saskatchewan judicial centres, but before making contact, check out the FAQ page.
If you are located in Saskatoon, also take a look at the Saskatoon Small Claims Project, which includes more procedural detail specific to Saskatoon’s Judicial Centre.
