The Law Society Library has launched a new legal research product, vLex, this morning. Here are a few notes to help you get the full benefit of this product.
Most of our members are accustomed to signing into the Members’ Section with their roll number, as this has been the only option for many years. Starting in 2018, active members also have the option to sign in with email. Email is a more universal element and more acceptable to vendors as we begin to develop single-sign-on to streamline our log-in procedure with different vendors.
vLex – Sign in with email
vLex offers features such as search history, favourites, filtered highlights and notifications, etc. When you sign in with email, you will be directed to your personal area where you can use all the benefits vLex offers without further setup.
The email address you should use is the same email address you have set up in your Member Profile.
vLex – Sign in with Roll Number (Barrister Number)
If you sign in with your roll number, you will be directed to a general area. You will see a green box on top of the screen prompting you to create an account to benefit from the full functionality of vLex. You will be required to enter email and phone number if you want to create an account.
You can also keep using the general area and never create an account. That’s absolutely fine if you don’t want to use features specific to individual accounts.
If you have any problems, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (306) 569-8020 or 1-877-989-4999.
