As part of global International Women’s Day activities, a free virtual webinar will be held on March 8, 2024, from 12:00-1:30 pm CST. Open to all, the webinar will address discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment in the legal profession. Registration is available on the Law Society of Saskatchewan’s website.
The webinar is hosted collaboratively and will feature speakers from the Canadian Bar Association Saskatchewan Branch, CREATE Justice, Enough Already, the International Association of Women Judges Canadian Chapter, the Law Society of Saskatchewan, the Public Legal Education Association of Saskatchewan, and the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.
There is no fee to attend and the webinar is eligible for 1.5 Continuing Professional Development hours for members of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, which all qualify for Ethics hours.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 is ‘Inspire Inclusion’ which speaks to the importance of ensuring legal workplaces are inclusive and safe. Studies demonstrate that issues of discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment are of significant concern for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the legal profession and impact access to justice and legal services for the public in Saskatchewan.
