Help With My Legal Matter
The Law Society does not:
- provide legal advice to the public
- advocate on behalf of or represent individual members of the public
The Law Society also has no jurisdiction to become involved in civil matters or decide matters which are, or should be, before the courts. This includes:
- seeking resolution for an issue that you can only get through a legal process (for example, production/discovery of documents, finding of perjury)
- assisting with an appeal process if you are unhappy with the outcome of a legal matter
- overturning a garnishee order
If you need assistance with the handling of a legal matter, seek legal advice. Visit the Find Options for Legal Assistance and Advice page.
