Saskatchewan Lawyer or Limited Licensee
The Law Society investigates concerns about the conduct of lawyers and limited licensees in the province. The goal is to ensure a high standard of conduct and competence in the service provided to the public. Although a wide variety of concerns are investigated, the Law Society doesn’t have the jurisdiction to:
- Reduce a legal bill or direct the reimbursement of money paid to a lawyer or limited licensee for fees.
- Compensate you for financial loss you believe you suffered due to:
- a mistake made by your lawyer or limited licensee (negligence); or
- lack of success in your legal matter.
- Give legal advice, represent you in court, provide you with a lawyer or limited licensee, or intervene in legal matters. This includes:
- helping you get an outcome through a legal process; or
- seeking an appeal if you are unhappy with the outcome of your legal process.
Select one of the options below for more information, depending on the outcome you are seeking.
