Does Not Have Required Skill Level or Lacks Capacity
Lawyers and limited licensees are expected to meet a high standard of skill, but they are not expected to be perfect.
Reasons a lawyer or limited licensee may not be providing you the appropriate level of service could include:
- They may not have the right training, skills, or experience for your type of legal issue.
Their work may also be affected by addiction, a mental health problem, or a cognitive condition.
See section 3.2-1, commentary [2] of the Law Society of Saskatchewan Code of Professional Conduct for Lawyers or the Law Society of Saskatchewan Code of Professional Conduct for Limited Licensees for more information.
If you think the lawyer or limited licensee does not have the needed skills for your case, or their ability to work is impaired, submit a complaint.
