Not Enough Time or Effort
It can be hard to judge how much time and effort a lawyer or limited licensee should spend on a case. Sometimes it may seem to a client that not enough time or effort is being put in. This can be affected by:
- The client’s budget. For example, a lawyer or limited licensee may try to save the client money by having a student or less experienced worker help with the case. Any limits like this should be discussed with the client ahead of time.
- The lawyer’s or limited licensee’s experience. If they have a lot of experience with similar cases, they may not need much preparation and may be able to resolve the case quickly.
However, a lawyer or limited licensee should only take a case if they have the right skills and experience.
If you believe the lawyer or limited licensee is not putting enough time or effort into your case, or is not handling it well, submit a complaint.
