Conflict or Want Removed
The Law Society cannot order a lawyer or limited licensee off a file. This involves a court order. Please seek legal assistance if you would like to proceed with this action.
The Law Society may take regulatory action if a lawyer or limited licensee is involved in a file where there is a conflict of interest in them doing so. A conflict of interest includes:
- a situation where a lawyer or limited licensee is unable to provide a current or former client with undivided loyalty. If you are a client or former client of the lawyer or limited licensee, please see the Conflict of Interest pathway for more information.
- the personal interests of the lawyer or limited licensee interfere with their ability to act for the client – for example, if the lawyer has a sexual or close personal relationship with an opposing party.
See section 3.4 of the Law Society of Saskatchewan Code of Professional Conduct for Lawyers or the Law Society of Saskatchewan Code of Professional Conduct for Limited Licensees for more information.
If you believe a lawyer or limited licensee is in a conflict of interest, submit a complaint.
