Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Collaborative Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation, research, and legal drafting skills, with a focus on fostering cooperative resolutions. This role involves working closely with clients and other legal professionals to facilitate amicable dispute resolution through collaborative practices. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a progressive legal environment committed to client-centered solutions. Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on collaborative law processes and alternative dispute resolution methods
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support our clients
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, agreements, and pleadings with precision and clarity
  • Negotiate effectively to reach mutually beneficial agreements
  • Facilitate communication between clients, mediators, and other stakeholders to promote cooperative outcomes
  • Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with all legal standards and ethical guidelines
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in collaborative law
  • Participate in team building and professional development
  • Maintain organized records and ensure cross-departmental collaboration to provide client centered care through the legal process
  • Make every effort to divert legal dispute to out of court options
  • Assist with departmental projects to improve processes and ensure consistent service for our clients

Experience

  • 2 + years experience in collaborative law and family law
  • Strong research skills
  • Proficiency with technology and cloud based programs
  • Negotiation skills
  • Alternative dispute resolution experience and training
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and effective legal documents
  • Experience in legal drafting, including agreements, motions, and pleadings
  • Prior experience working collaboratively with clients and other legal professionals
  • Arbitration designation is an asset
