Law Society of Saskatchewan Continuing Professional Development Continuing Professional Development Policy Reporting CPD Hours

Reporting CPD Hours

The Law Society of Saskatchewan introduced a Continuing Professional Development Policy which took effect January 1, 2010. Under the CPD Policy, members are required to report their own CPD Hours online through their Member Profile login.

Just a reminder, when reporting your CPD hours you are only entitled to report the actual number of hours that you attended/participated in the CPD activity. This means that if you only attended a portion of a CPD activity (i.e., you came late, left early, etc.), you report the actual hours you were there as opposed to the maximum hours the CPD activity is approved for. The Law Society is conducting random audits to monitor this issue.

To report CPD Hours:

  • Log into your Member Profile.
  • After logging in, click on the CPD tab on the left side of the screen.
  • Choose the year by clicking on the arrow to the right of the current year.
  • Once in the current year, scroll down and click “Add” to begin reporting your CPD hours or click on the “Written Instructions” at the top for assistance.
  • Complete all fields and click “Save” at the bottom of the CPD form.
  • Only CPD activities that meet the criteria set out in the CPD Policy can be reported (the criteria for activities to qualify remains unchanged from previous years).
  • If you experience issues, please reach out to [email protected] for assistance.
We encourage you to go into your Member Profile often to check your CPD hours so you know how many hours (if any) you still need to complete before the current CPD term ends on December 31st..  All active members are required to complete and report a minimum of 12 CPD hours annually (2 of which must qualify as ethics hours).
