Description :

As a member of the Human Resource Leadership Team (HRLT), the Director, Employee Relations, is responsible for leading the strategic labour and employee relations for Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The Director, Employee Relations, has direct responsibility for developing, enhancing and implementing a variety of progressive employee relations strategies, managing the organization’s collective bargaining and grievance/arbitration processes, and assisting in the ongoing development and implementation of various policy initiatives designed to support the organization in effectively managing its human resources. This position plays a key role in ensuring labour relations strategies support both institutional sustainability and positive workplace culture. The Director, Employee Relations integrates equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation principles into employee and labour relations strategies, ensuring decision-making, policies, and practices promote fairness, respect, and trust across diverse employee groups while aligning with Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s commitments and values.

This position can be based at any of our Saskatchewan Polytechnic locations, requiring travel provincially. This role is one of four Directors reporting to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources.
Qualifications:
A relevant degree, ideally Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B). Senior level
experience (minimum of five years) in employee and labour relations with a large
organization as well as demonstrated knowledge of progressive employee relations
practices and relevant labour relations legislation. Alternative combinations of education
and experience will be considered.
