Over the past five years and more, many organizations have honoured the achievements of Violet King Henry – the first Black Canadian to obtain a law degree in Alberta, the first Black person admitted to the Alberta Bar and the first Black woman to become a lawyer in Canada. Violet’s daughter, Jo-Anne Henry Bent, joins us for a conversation about her mother and her mother’s community in Alberta. On Feb 13th, learn about this amazing woman and the influences in her life.
