Saskatchewan Access to Legal Information Initiative

Saskatchewan’s Access to Legal Information (SALI) initiative partners with community organizations and information providers who work with the public to amplify legal information and assistance options. SALI helps the helpers. Do you know members of the public who would benefit from having access to information about the law or knowing about options for legal assistance? SALI can help. Legal information helps people learn about their legal problems, ways of resolving legal problems and legal rights and responsibilities.

Resources for Legal Information Providers

SALI creates resources, publishes a newsletter, and provides training to help organizations connect the public with information about the law, options for legal assistance, and community support.

  • Detecting Legal Problems Guide: Legal Information Sources, Options for Assistance, and Self-Help Tools – Detect legal issues and connect them to targeted sources of legal information, legal assistance and community support.
  • Infographics –  Learn how members of the public in Saskatchewan access and obtain legal information.
  • Law Resources List – Curated resources to support libraries that may wish to add legal titles to their collections.
  • Quick Reference Guide to Legal Information & Assistance Sources – Connect the public with key legal information resources and assistance/advice sources.
  • Providing Legal Information Training Presentation – Build core legal information and assistance referral skills with SALI’s standardized training resource.
  • Using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Tools to Obtain Legal Information – A guide to support informed GenAI tool use.
