As Saskatchewan enters Phase 3 of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan on June 8, with the increase in gathering size, along with the expansion in the scope of businesses and services able to be safely provided, your law firm may be considering a return to the bricks and mortar office.
As your firm contemplates appropriate measures to take into account when developing return to office plans, we encourage you to review the Lawyer’s Guide to Reopening the Office. The guide provides you with factors and procedures to consider for a safe return to the office for all who may be impacted by this step, including clients. These steps will also help to ensure the health and safety of the families of those returning to the office. In light of the Government of Saskatchewan’s ongoing recommendation that those who can work from home should continue to do so, we encourage you to continue working remotely where possible.
In accordance with the government’s recommendation, please be advised that the Law Society of Saskatchewan office will remain closed to the public we serve and our members until at least August 31, 2020. All of the Law Society’s functions and programming will continue to operate at full capacity on a remote basis.
We continue to closely monitor the spread of COVID-19 and to take action to reduce the risk of exposure. The health and safety of our members, students, faculty, and staff (and their families) is the Law Society’s top priority. We look forward to seeing you in person when it is safe to do so. Until then, please stay safe and be well.
