We feel the time has come for firms to take seriously the prospect that working remotely to serve the needs of your clients will soon be a reality. The timeframe for this can probably be more accurately estimated in days rather than weeks. For the good of our membership, other stakeholders in the justice system and the public we serve, the Administration and the Benchers of the Law Society strongly urge firms to consider making this transition your priority. We expect important announcements this week which will relax long-standing requirements of personal attendance in certain situations that will significantly increase your ability to transact business with your clients without the need for personal attendance. The rest is up to you.
We are committed to assisting firms in making this transition. We are making resources available to any member of the profession who needs advice or support to make this happen on a completely confidential basis and free of charge.
