Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers

We’d like to remind our members about Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL), a free, confidential assistance program. Any Saskatchewan lawyer, articling student, law student or their eligible family member may contact LCL 24 hours a day, 7 days a week directly for confidential assistance by calling 1-800-663-1142. Please see the Saskatchewan Lawyers’ Insurance Association (SLIA) website for more information.

Homewood Human Solutions was retained to manage LCL’s program and remains LCL’s referrals coordinator and administrator for professional counseling services. Client contacts are made directly to Homewood Human Solutions 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for immediate confidential assistance. Homewood maintains confidential records, reports by reference only to client numbers and is careful not to reveal any details that might inadvertently identify a specific client.

Please see the following statement from Homewood Human Solutions concerning COVID-19:

To our valued customers…

As you know, this week the World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 a worldwide pandemic. Since the initial days of the COVID-19 outbreak the Homewood team, including our leadership team, our operational and clinical teams, and our infection control team have been reviewing, updating and implementing our pandemic plan.  We continue to review and synthesize the guidance coming from international, national, provincial and local health and government sources. Our intent, as always, is to continue to provide service while focusing on the safety of the entire Homewood family (including clients, customers, employees, and counselling partners) while not causing any additional anxiety for people already worried about the implications of a pandemic.

As an update, we are working through the details of implementing social distancing guidelines for our clients (your employees and members) as well for our staff including clinicians, client service centre colleagues, and our sales and account management folks. We will communicate the details of how the introduction of social distancing concepts will temporarily impact how counselling sessions are delivered in a message early next week that will include a communication piece for your employees and the people they care about. Rest assured, employees who are in need of counselling, coaching, and support will continue to receive it.

Thank you again for your continued support.
