Discipline Decision
May 26, 2020
A decision has been released in relation to the matter of Law Society of Saskatchewan v Heinricks. The following allegations against the Member were proven:
did accept cash in an aggregate amount of $13,000.00 in respect of one transaction, contrary to Law Society of Saskatchewan Rule 909.
The following penalty was imposed by the Hearing Committee:
a. IT IS ORDERED THAT DOUGLAS JAMES HEINRICKS, Q.C. is reprimanded;
b. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT DOUGLAS JAMES HEINRICKS, Q.C. shall pay a fine of $1,000.00 to the Law Society of Saskatchewan; and
c. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT DOUGLAS JAMES HEINRICKS, Q.C. shall pay costs to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in the amount of $1,500.00.
