The next offering of the Legal Research and Writing (LRW) course from CPLED begins on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. The course is available to all NCA applicants who have been issued an Assessment Report from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, as an optional learning tool. The course is considered to be a useful tool in preparing students to write their NCA exams. The course is $375 CAD, plus applicable taxes and registration will open on our website on Monday, February 22, 2021.
Legal research and writing are fundamental skills required by all lawyers in Canada. To help better prepare students for Bar admission CPLED has developed the LRW course to provide students with valuable insights and best practices as well as an opportunity to receive feedback from trained assessors.
“The course provided an effective intro to drafting legal documents in Canada. Overall the course helped in building my confidence and polishing my skills.”
– LRW student
This optional online course is eight-weeks in length. It consists of two modules, with a multiple-choice quiz after each module and two assignments that include a research and writing component. Students who successfully complete the LRW course and meet the admission requirements for CPLED’s Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) and subsequently register for PREP, will be exempt from two PREP Foundation Modules.
For more details on the LRW course or to register, visit the LRW section of the CPLED website.
