Data-Informed Insights to Enhance Access to Justice
October 4, 2023Legal practitioners, stakeholders, and individuals will join province-wide from October 23-27, 2023 to observe the fourth annual National and eighth annual Saskatchewan Access to Justice Week.
This year, the national theme is the “10 Year Anniversary of Canada’s Justice Development Goals”. Provincially there will also be an emphasis on inclusivity and data-informed change aimed at engaging new and diverse voices and highlighting initiatives working to improve justice for people in Saskatchewan.
As part of this year’s activities, on Tuesday October 24, 2023 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. CST, a webinar titled “Saskatchewan Legal Needs Assessment” will be hosted by the Law Society of Saskatchewan in collaboration with CREATE Justice, the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies, and the Canadian Bar Association (Saskatchewan). The webinar will discuss and highlight findings from the Saskatchewan Legal Needs Assessment conducted during 2021-2022.
The Legal Needs Assessment provides the perspectives of lawyers and community organizations on access to justice issues and legal needs within communities across Saskatchewan. It offers insights for addressing unmet legal needs and areas of focus.
Attendance is free, but registration is needed. Please register here to participate and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on legal needs and access to justice. This event qualifies for one Law Society of Saskatchewan Continuing Professional Development hour.
