Building Capacity Towards Reconciliation

This Fall, we invite Indigenous and non-Indigenous professionals practicing law, mediation, arbitration, and anyone with interest in anti-racist alternative conflict resolution to join us in Wanuskewin Heritage Park (or online) on September 7 – 8, 2022. The Fall conference is titled “Towards Reconciliation: Building Intercultural Capacity, Anti-Racism and Inclusion in Alternative Dispute Resolution.” The presenters are:

  • Karen Snowshoe
  • David Noganosh
  • Randy Ray and Chris Mercer

And the performance of:

  • Reasonable Doubt: the Colton Boushie story re-told, a documentary musical play created by Yvette Nolan, Lancelot Knight, and Joel Bernbaum.

This conference takes place at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, and is hosted by ADR Saskatchewan and Conflict Resolution Saskatchewan. It responds to TRC Call to Action #57. The conference aims to foster:

  • Respectful partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities
  • An inclusive ADR profession for clients and practitioners
  • Cultural competency and skills regarding traditional Indigenous practices to resolve conflict

Professional development credits available for this conference:
12 CPD hours from the Law Society of Saskatchewan
24 CEE points from the ADR Institute of Canada for designation holders
