Canadian law societies have partnered to launch Ours to Protect, a national education campaign designed to raise awareness about the importance of the rule of law as a cornerstone of Canada’s democracy that ensures fairness, justice, and equality for all.
The campaign is a response to new research findings that show that many Canadians are increasingly concerned about threats to democratic systems, including court delays, disinformation, and perceived political interference. Through the educational Ours to Protect campaign, law societies aim to engage the public in meaningful conversations about why the rule of law matters and how it safeguards collective rights and freedoms.
By promoting an understanding of the rule of law as a foundational principle, the campaign strengthens trust in the legal system and reinforces confidence in the fair administration of justice.

This creates opportunities to understand the issues especially those in accessing justice from unrepresented litigants as being the fastest growing demographic of the legal system.
Knowing and enforcing justice from the rule of law are 2 very different things as often the most vulnerable are dismissed from the equation which is problematic as they are the fastest growing demographic and will set the narrative in the coming years.
