Saskatchewan Child Support Recalculation Service Changes
August 5, 2022
The Family Maintenance Regulations have recently been amended.
The Family Maintenance Amendment Regulations, 2022 came into effect on June 16, 2022. Section 21.1 of the amended regulations applies to the recalculation of child support.
A recalculation may now occur in the following situations if an agreement or order is otherwise eligible, where:
A dependant is over the age of 18 if the Federal Child Support Guideline table was used to determine the support amount.
A shared parenting arrangement is in place, and support was determined based on a straight set-off of the Guideline table amounts (excludes Divorce Act orders at this time).
One party resides outside of Saskatchewan, and consent of the out-of-province party is obtained.
