Discipline Decision
October 5, 2020A decision has been released in relation to the matter of Law Society of Saskatchewan v. Josephine de Whytell [https://www.lawsociety.sk.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/2020-SKLSS-7-00217200xB6EE0.pdf]
The following allegations against the Member were proven:
- did, in the course of professional practice send correspondence to M.G. that was abusive, offensive or otherwise inconsistent with the proper tone of professional communication from a lawyer.
The following penalty was imposed by the Hearing Committee:
- IT IS ORDERED THAT JOSEPHINE DE WHYTELL shall pay a fine of $1,000.00 to the Law Society of Saskatchewan; and
- IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT JOSEPHINE DE WHYTELL shall pay costs to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in the amount of $1,000.00 by October 14, 2020, or such other date as the Chair of Discipline may approve.
