Special Recognition: CLASSIC highlights special recognition for Janice Gingell who officially “retired” from being a retired lawyer volunteer in February 2025. Janice volunteered 20 hours per week at CLASSIC for 13 years. During that time, she provided CLASSIC with over 11,000 hours of pro bono service. She assisted on hundreds of files and made a significant impact as the only lawyer at CLASSIC who provided estate, power of attorney, wills and guardianship work. She then provided training to others to help with this growing area of demand. Janice was also integral in advocating for the Active Pro Bono registration category through the Law Society of Saskatchewan. As expressed by CLASSIC staff, “Janice is an incredible inspiration and impacted many people through her volunteer work at CLASSIC. She is intelligent, hard-working, humble and witty. We miss her already but wish her all the best in actual retirement”.
