In February 2024, Canadians celebrate African Canadian / Black History Month with festivities and events honouring the legacy of Black Canadians. The theme for 2024 is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.
In recognition of Black History Month, four lawyers who immigrated to Saskatchewan from Africa will share their experiences and their path to becoming a lawyer in CPD 380, Black History Month: Making History Today. The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed February as African-Canadian / Black History Month in Saskatchewan, to honour and recognize the legacy of African-Canadians across the province. The Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum (SACHM) celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2024 and to learn more about Black history and events taking place around the province, visit SACHM’s website and Facebook page or the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan’s Black History Month events page.
